| Louie Bellson Has Left Us ....the great drummer has gone to the Big Gig Elsewhere.
I was working hotel A/V work in the late 80es and one job that was both an honor and a pleasure for me was to do live sound for him and his lovely wife Pearl Bailey at a fundraiser one night.
I can see how they (her black and him white) dared marry at a time when that 'just wasn't done', because they were both incredibly warm, giving people, and they fit each other to a tee.
I hope he went easily, and I will think of him in the days to come (and put on my soundtrack album from '1941' where he kills on "Swing, swing, swing.")
Rest easy, Louie; you were one of the good ones. Bless you.
