Plexitone is the BEST there is! TWO od's in one AND a clean boost! If you need one pedal at a gig, it will get use. It's not Tube Screamer-y at all (none of the TS-type midrange), yet not scooped either. The reason I call it an all in oner is that when I use the Plexitone as a main gain, MOST bands/groups/orchestras I play are "used to" the sound more than say my Jacques Tube Blower (my other fav) or my Barber DD (yummy!). You get less "looks on the faces" of band leaders/directors....usually you'll get a "Do you have another distortion [that's what they call overdrive] sounds?"; again, the Plexi's seems to please ears more. If you need more mid, get a Stellartone tone pot on your guitar!!!!!!!!

As far as other CM peds, I have owned the chorus & the fazer as well. The ONLY problem with CM pedals is that if you mix too many of them with other (non Boss PS supplied-type) pedals, your set up gets noise. When I used my CM Plexitone, Comp, Chorus & Fazer together/alone, NO noise. I think the fact that they have internal PS's, it can create noise when used with other pedals.

I'm dying to try an AC Tone and the DeLayLa someday! I have an AC30 type amp (Framus Ruby Riot) and I have a Boss DD20 for my delays which do the job AND I can have 4 presets on my pedalboard.

As far as comps I like the Keeley comp better for electric, but the CM is perfect for acoustic guitar work!
