Hi TEMAS,

I should change the wording on the site. It is supposed to mean you can do it yourself, if you are capable. If VSI changes your power supply it would not be UL rated. The liability is too great.

What has been discussed is a trade in, where we would turn around and sell it on eBay or something for you. We have not solidified this concept yet.

Our prototype rack started with the BAE 11 space chassis. VSI built a one unit power supply, wired an additional lead to all the edge connectors for the additional 300v supply, and put the transformer out in a little box on the floor, complete with UL ranting and IEC connector. The one slot power supply then has all the regulation and light for each voltage rail, as well as a power switch. We are still trying to figure out if we can sell the one space supply and external transformer if we are not going to do the work to the chassis. Plus BAE would probably be bummed, and we are not out to step on toes.

Our rack chassis (on paper still) will be somewhat similar to the BAE, but the electronics will be as described, a one slot power module and the external transformer.

Eric
