Don't worry about folks bagging on you...Honestly, just use your ears bro...Search around on a piano till you find the root. And take to heart the advice about honing your musical skills.
On occasion, songs can have multiple keys that need addressing and the root isn't the easist thing to find. But start with the first root and move along from there.
