i think this is the place where everyone is supposed to jump in and bash MOTU, and advocate for any number of competitors instead, just to confuse the OP.

ie, you dont want MOTU - not stable, drivers suck, bad customer support, blah blah. what you want is the new XXXX, whatever, which is at least $2000 more than the OP's budget...
