Yes, I'll have access to up to 1Gbps fiber to the facility, though I'll probably only turn on 10Mbps or 100Mbps to start.

Also I was wondering if you had considered the API Vision over the Legacy?
The Vision is an awesome console. But I'm going to start simple.

Are you also looking to be tonally flexible from a hardware point of view (e.g. Neve/Helios/Focusrite/Chandler/EMI Preamps etc) as well as having a very flexible and controllable environment? Or am I a bit ahead of your thought processes (which I somehow doubt :-) )
The control room will be wired such that with the magic of ELCO connectors, we can connect one or two 48 input/48 output credenzas in a matter of minutes. In my control room renderings I've got 14U of credenza space allocated to Neve porticos, just because the Neve images were easy to put into my program. Ditto API racks (but that's totally redundant with the console--it's just 3d graphics at this point). I'm sure there will be lots of great outboard gear as time goes by.

But I'm very interested to see just how far I can go with a simple setup: a great room, a great mixing environment, and a great console. To quote somebody else's signature: great records have been made with less.
