Why isnt this phasing? When it is always said it should be..
I top mic the snare with a 57, bottom mic it with a C451. I got to the pre's and bring both mics up. sounds fine, I flip the phase thinking that what is needed and it sounds terrible! No bottom end what-so-ever, so why is it that even though it is always said to flip the phase on the bottom mic, I've never liked it? Is it the way I am micing it? Top mic is about 3 inches off the center, bottom mic about 5-6 inches off the spring
