One for you synthesists and UK slutz:

A girl finds the keys to man's heart
By plugging his fav'rite patch chart:
She stacked all her voices,
Made all the right noises
And flashed LEDs in the dark.

Or:
/And hoped to inspire great art.
/And danced to inspire his art.

This just came to me in the night at 3am, unable to sleep. I'd gone beyond frustration after three hours lying awake, and slipped into a half-dream state...

Firstly I began daydreaming (at night) that all of my best old friends from around the globe were gathered together in a large low-ceilinged classroom/hall for a Christmas/New Year celebration. I didn't find out about this originally, so it came as a nice surprise to see them all there, since I was felling rather down and lonely. The room had no furniture, just lots of yoga mats lined up regimentally on the floor, like desks in a classroom. This was in some educational/health institution; perhaps we were staff there. We all joked about the luxurious decor and facilities, and laid on the mats chatting.

Eventually it was time for bed, so we all went off to our rooms, which were all off a maze of corridors surrounding the central hall. I found an untaken room and laid down on the bed, not able to sleep, but contemplating things, with the door wide open and the corridor
lights flooding in. Then a lovely girl I'd briefly only just met earlier wandered in and sat down on the bed. I was pleased to see her!
"Wow, how did you find me here?"
"Well, I just wandered around until I found this room with the door ajar."
"Nice one, it's good to see you again. What's your name?"
"_______" [forgotten]
"Your hair looks lovely; a different colour, lighter perhaps, and matches the flowers on this plant."
(*blushes*) "It's no different."
Her shoulder-length bob-style hair was dyed a stunning pale coppery reddish-brown colour just like the plant in the room, and shone with inner radiance. We chatted for a while, she making it clear that we were already friends. Then I wrote the above limerick for her. SHE MADE ME DO IT! She even laughed. I just had to wake up and switch on the light in Real Life to write this down for you all. Let's hope that I can now get some sleep, switch on the light in Real Life, and MEET HER for real. [To be continued...]

Since this is my frist p0st here (I've been lurking for years), and this *cool* thread is about giving, it only seems right to offer a sacrifice to Fedor and the Gods of Good Grooves. So if anyone's still readingzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, I have an unmatched pair of AKG C1000 mics that haven't seen much use since I got an AKG CK91+CK94 Mid&Side rig a few years back.

The C1000's are the older type without the switch, in gold with red trim, electret condensers either powered by internal AA battery or 48V phantom power. They've been well looked after, and are in very good condition, coming with all the standard accessories like the presence boost adapter and mic stand clip. I'll even throw in a stereo bar. The only issue is that one of the mic's pouches has a broken zip.

They are ideal mics to use as stereo overheads or for capturing live performances with proper room ambience. My first decent mics, I've personally used them for choirs, chamber ensembles, my African drumming groups and even found sounds outdoors. They're hardly C12's, but give decent quality recordings which are a big step up from crappy camera mics or cheapo dynamics. So my target audience for this giveaway is someone who, like Lunatic's intern, has (next to) nothing. So please PM me with your story (please keep it brief!) describing what you're recording and how this will make a difference. I'll choose the most appropriate once enough people have written in. Anyone wishing to draw attention to their case may increase their chances by posting in this thread any musical limericks that you have made up and/or humourous musical anecdotes, but this is not required.

Obviously anyone who is just trawling this thread looking for stuff to slap up on eBay will eventually get visits from the Karma Police and/or Fedor. tutt

This gift is for UK recipients only. Sorry to all you slutz from Slovenia, but it's just not practical or good for Mother Earth to be shipping large/fragile/vintage gear around the globe.

Give locally. Get paid in smiles!

I'd rather you come and collect from Bedfordshire in England, or maybe we could meet halfway in Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire/M25, just for the high-five. But I could maybe post if you help with costs; I am in bad shape financially, but figure I currently need Luck more than I do two spare mics.

Well goodnight it's snowing like mad here - a rare treat
