This is a custom mdf cut off site and hung on the wall on edge, two high (16 feet). No two 8x4 sheets are the same. There are tons and tons of mdf in there. I was there when they were building it (John bought all ATC 300s for Blackbird) and have been in it many times since. It's an idea George has been toying with since LA "The Complex" days, extreme diffusion and it does sound unlike any other room I've ever been in. Image from the five ATC 150s in that room is spectacular.
I think the room has always been put to other use rented when George travels or record/mixes elsewhere. Blackbird is very busy so empty rooms aren't empty long. GML company offices are also inside the Blackbird facility adjacent to this room.
