[quote=gitarrero;3748278]...and maybe there's a reason for that?
"maybe there's also a reason why some members did get more than 15 deals (from diffrent companies) offered in a membership of about 2 years (that's my personal experience)..?
it's up to you to decide whether to hone your skills, sharpen your songs or simply blame taxi for a lack of success.
blaming taxi is for sure the more comfortable route, but it won't bring you any further." Wow - that's terribly condescending - with John Peel dead and Simon Cowell ruling the airwaves there's too much of that about these days!
We've had lack of success with Taxi - not lack of success - we've just secured a 26k distribution deal with a label, we've been on a dozen of FM stations this month, we're having interest from publishers. We even have fans - lots of them. All this by doing the donkey work that we were under the illusion that Taxi would do a little of for us - instead they've just taken our money.
Here's my point.
Music is a matter of taste - and beyond the 'obviously don't give up the day job' threshold - what you might think is up to snuff I might find banal and vice versa.
I'm still giving Taxi the benifit of the doubt - and will reluctantly tighten up the production, etc for next submissions - not that'll make a difference. (besides - why should I - I like how we sound - that's why I do it!) -
Taxi have a quota for submissions - and find excuses not to submit - yet are still happy to take money off people for nothing. (a critique is worse than nothing - it tells people not believe in their own tastes) -
if they gave the addresses of those who are making the requests for us unworthy to take our chances unsolicited - then I'll be more inclined to think they're working for musicians and not capitalising on them.
