I had some further thoughts on this. Whether or not the company outright states that their product replaces acoustic treatment, a lot of people take it that way. I see threads all the time in recording forums and also hi-fi forums asking if room "correction" avoids the need for bass traps. Indeed, the title of this thread is
IK Multimedia ARC System vs Acoustic Treatment??? which I read as asking about one
versus the other.
