To answer some questions, They are my own samples that are failing to load correctly.

And yeah logic 7. What is the significance of spotlight?

I have a feeling it's more to do with the 'lookup tables' for files that Ultrabest uses. These seem to be restricted to short character names - they seem to work when the samples are where it 'expects' them to be (which means perhaps it uses some other databse as well - possible Logic's 'program manager thingo' - ????).

My latest theory (on suggestion from some-one else) is that I do a Disk image copy of the old drive onto the new one. Really what I need to do it to fool Ultrabeat into thinking it's the same drive. How can it tell the difference I wonder? What is making it freak out? Unique Device ID???

hmmmm...

Any further thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! I am really stuck here and need to sort this out in the next few days!
