matter of opinion

I own a comercial facility so i have had the luxury of using and owning quite a few of your candidates. here is a list of my opinions...

Genelec---never heard a set I could stand to use for more than a few hours. the top is totally synthesized and hyped (the only exception would be the s30c, which is a decent speaker)

PMC's---I own a set of 1b1's and I have to say that they would make a great set of speakers for the house. in studio use they are very inconsistent and unreliable (be sure you have a box of mid's and tweets handy)

Dynaudio---I believe these are the best speakers made today (with the exception of Meyer x-10's). They are reliable, consistent, un-hyped and an exceptional reference. The bm15's are great and are a proven studio monitor.

Just my opinions. There is some other stuff out there that is a cut above, but not within your budget. If you want to up the ante check out ATC. They are a solid speaker.

P.S. don't buy anything you can't hear first...and certainly don't buy on someone elses advice (YOUR ears should be the final verdict).
