New Interface...

I use the new M-Audio Profire 2626. I used to have a Delta 1010. I have friends with both the Presonus stuff, the RME stuff, the Apogee Ensemble and I even have a friend who has an Orpheus by Prism. The Profire, of the inexpensive ones IMO, is the warmest of them all, preamp-wise, even with the RME stuff included in that category. Yes, the Orpheus is the nicest sounding, converter-wise, but it only has 4 pres and so many outs. For what you'll pay for an Orpheus, get yourself the Profire with 2 Rosetta's and a Big Ben from me and you'll be golden. Yes, the Orpheus is that expensive. On the other hand, the clock on the profire, for the price, is darn solid, the preamps sound good, its drivers are solid, the control panel is incredibly easy to work with and it has 2 adat ins which is awesome for me because I have a Rosetta 800 going into one and my Octopre with an adat card going into another...I'm using all 26 ins in other words. Now, what makes my system sound so good is that I'm using the Clock from a Mytek Stereo AD to clock the whole system. You're probably thinking to yourself, well, that Mytek only has one BNC out, how can you clock everything properly. Well, this is how I'm doing it. The Profire has the ability to have it's clock be by BNC, Internal, Adat or spidf. I have it set to Spidf, then I'm taking it's word clock out, into the Octopre. Then the actual BNC out of the Mytek is going into the Rosetta, then I'm leaving it and terminating as I'm doing out of the Profire into the Octopre, into another Adat unit that I almost never use who's name gives me goosebumps just mentioning and begins with the letters Behr. Again, it's really only being used for termination so that my clocking stays stable and I can do what I'm doing. In any case, with my whole system is clocked to the Mytek's clock....it sounds awesome, especially hearing back on my Adams and I do all genre's from R&B/Dance to str8 up rock....

Just my opinion....hope it helped buddy...
