I've had Logic for a few years and upgraded to 8. I've spent the past month seriously using it on some personal songs. In doing so I'm exploring it's VIs and content. It's really hard to deny what a fantastic deal the whole thing is. Kind of dumb not to have it in your tool box. Now that I'm feeling comfortable (thanks to grooveboxmusic.com) I'll definitely break it out for some client stuff. I'm still missing DP's built in pitch correction, as I use that aaaaalllll the time, but I've found Logic to be more cpu efficient and have enjoyed it's different work environment. If you're just looking for better samples than I'd probably invest the money in more specialized libraries but if you want a ton of decent stuff then check out Logic 8!
True about pitch. The pitch shifter in logic is horrible on sample's. You are better of with the new lasted Abelton live 7, the pitch shifter is so great in that one.
