5 Records that changed my life- MIXWISE-ARRANGEMENTWISE-SONICWISE-SONGWISE

1. "BLACK SEA" by XTC (Producer- Steve Lillywhite, Engineer- Hugh Padgham)
some of the most KILLING drum and guitar sounds ever in my opinion

2. "SO" by Peter Gabriel (Lanois, Gabriel)
Peter's use of the CMI becomes an art form, cast of characters like Manu Katche, Nile Rogers, etc.etc.

3. "Low" by David Bowie (Bowie, and Tony Visconti)
BY FAR the most UNDERRATED bowie record (and my fave) Eno SHINES- and the songs are quirky and weird- but oh so charming.

4."The Unforgettable Fire" by U2 (ENO/LANOIS, with Engineering by Kevin Killen)
Needs no qualification- it's greatness is self-evident

5. "Elliott Smith" by Elliott Smith (Elliot Smith, Tony Lash)
When I first got this record, I listened to it every day for a year straight. The vibe is INFECTIOUS and the production is so HONEST, and MINIMAL that songs just shine.

There are many more that have shaped my outlook, but these five top the list.
