Yes...considering your situation as a whole, 4" or 6" panels behind you would work out better than anything reflective, even if it's true diffusion.

Would 2" thick panels do me any good at all? It's already pretty cramped behind me.
Maybe I'm over thinking this, but should I put up some 2x4 panels side by side (touching each other), or leave a space between them,... should they be dead center of the wall, or ceiling to floor ?
