I do not own a 003, I have and used it for a while.
Going from a 003 to a 96io on HD, how much of an improvement do you expect with that?
To the original poster, read between the lines, don't listen to the haters as someone else said.
If you can't make great music on a 003 then I really don't think you are gonna on anything else.
Get it and upgrade the preamps later. The converters are not shit.
They can more than adequately serve your purposes.
