Some younger listeners prefer sound of MP3 at 320 BR over CD quality, as they are just more used to.
I had several requests to mix directly to highest possible quality MP3, as they don't see point to have 16/44 files.
The funniest thing is that efforts done during tracking and mixing OTB are appreciated as 'better sound' compared to proposed same ITB project by same clients eventhough everything ends up as MP3.
When I tried to master such tracks myself, I've found that tracks that were played as MP3 and mastered via analogue outboards sounded better than after additional MP3 to wav files decoding applied.
Seems it's time for high-end AD-DA MP3 file converter.
