I had this little fantasy about a 3 mic setup for my drums;

One FLEA C-12 overhead and one C-12 as side/OH mic.

One FLEA 47 a few feets in front of the kit.

On a old Gretsch in huge sizes, and sometimes a small Ayotte kit.

I know the C 12's will work nice as overheads, but I have never tried a U 47 as a room mic on drums... used it on vocals with fantastic results. Belive it or not...

The question is; Will a U 47 handle a bass drum, mic far away of course... And will it capture a huge fat, round and deep sounding 24x14" kick, played very gentle?

Maybe the C-12 is a better option here as well....
