I'm not entirely sure of the limitations, I owned a HUI back in the day and it worked quite well. The thing that sent me psycho with the HUI was the faders locking down and not responding to touch.

It might be worth sending SmartAV another email, I'm sure they'll respond, they're a very personable company to deal with, not a faceless corporation.
