Is this the same as a PC and a midi controller? ummm... no. Pcs aren't dedicated to music. They have all sorts of other BS on them to make them streamlined enough to be a dedicated music machine. This IS a dedicated machine MADE TO run music software. This will be MUCH faster than your little PC at home with much better DACs. Can you make your own synth with different modules? No. Not on a PC. I think this is a really cool idea, and closest we've seen is the Korg Oasys. Though the price is WAY out of hand, which is a bummer as it will lead to small sales most likely. This machine gives you the benefits of VSTis with all the benefits of hardware. W/O the shitty PC interface.
