It's good to hear that people are still doing well out here. However, when I walk into Guitar Center on a Saturday afternoon I can't help but notice 5 kids playing Death Metal riffs really badly, or a 42 year old playing a couple of Blues licks really badly. And then the Pro Audio department seems all but vacant. Maybe it's cause everyone mail orders nowadays.
Anyway, the film/TV/multimedia business definitely seems to help out a lot which I think is what really keeps this city afloat. They haven't all moved to Canada yet! I think the new A&R people are music supervisors and film/music middlemen.
