Couldn't agree more!
But, look at the guys who went to Europe in the '80s and bought 100s of tube mics (M50s, U67, U47, C12 251s, etc...) for $50-$150 while everyone else was going to transistors... Good investment, no?
There was a time when big, corporate studios were throwing out analog gear into the dumpster, like Fairchilds and LA2As in favor of newer, hotter digital crap.
