Quite honestly, to get good isolation for drums is going to require doing more than just that one wall. Also, anything that you do that has the mass and isolation to do the job isn't going to function as a bass absorber.

If it's an option, given the room size, I'd probably work on getting the internal room acoustics right for that kind of tracking and do it after business hours.
