Its been my experience, that the dudes I have known, worked with, if anyone shows the slightest bit of ability to play an instrument, they are highly esteemed, not good, but can wank a few sloppy notes on the guitar, and suddenly they are amazing guitar players. I honestly want to not critisize this genre, but I think as far as musically, it has to be one of the less demanding, less talent necessary. I truly hope that more talent arises up.
I think it was Jay-Z, or whowever came out of retirement, because he said that the rap world has gone down hill and needs to get serious. I thought, oh, now thats cool. But then I heard one of his new songs, rapping about booty's or something. Common, there has got to be more.
I think the last time I seriously liked Rap was back when I listened to the likes of Eric B and Rakim. Perhaps I am just getting old?? | +1..I loved some eric B and rakim...You would just think that 20 years later there would be more talent involved..they are still sampling old records and sh&t...no one ever had to learn basic chord structure.
They need to stick to drawing lines through Fruity Loops and leave the real instruments alone!!!! |
