I think if you listen to the "Guitar Hero" version in comparison to the CD, you'll change your mind. The files are out there if you look.
As far as
context goes, how about comparing it to other Metallica albums ? My colleague Simon Murphy is a fan and brought the CD in, so we did some comparisons this morning :
