| the 003 goes into a different communications mode (pro tools mode) that is not recognized by third pary software when pro tools is running.
the 003 switches into 3rd party mode in firmware when the ASIO driver is not being tied up by pro tools. third party mode allows the interface to be used by non digidesign software. In order for the interface to be switched into 3rd party mode, pro tools program must be shut down.
I don't know how prepriatory digidesign got with its protools, but you should be able to rewire the output of your melodyne to pro tools. Especially if you feed it enough ram
thats why sometimes I miss my Otari and my old Ampex
