George, your last answer to my q about installing the AI driver was just dandy, but I'm an idiot when it comes to what should be simple stuff.

SO, installing the AI driver and Steinberg extensions off the CDROM I get. But, I also get that I need to install the latest updates. Now, do I install the stuff off the CDROM Tools for "n" first and then install the updates, or can I take the updates I've downloaded from Yamahasynth.com and install them directly?

I've got three folders on my desktop. AI v 1.1.3, IEEE1394 Firmware updater v1.05, and extensions for Steinberg DAW 1.3.0.

I've connected the N12 to the Mac via firewire and nothing else. NO power to the N12.
So, do I install off the CD first and then apply the updates? And, if so, how and where do I apply the updates?

Sorry to be so obtuse. I've already installed and updated Cubase Studio 4 to 4.1.3.

Thanks again for your continued presence on this forum. It was your personal touch that convinced me to buy the N12. Not that I ever thought I'd be troubling you with such mundane questions...
