You might want to consider Cubase SX3, which is basically Nuendo without some of the surround and video post features. I wish there was a demo of it, but alas, as I'm also a PT LE user (4 years now) and wanting to explore other options. I love Ableton Live for composing but the mix buss sounds like ass (whatever ass sounds like) and quite a hog on OSX/Powerbook.
Just heard so many great things about Cubase SX3.
