Depends on the sound I´m looking for, but a pair of AEA R84´s has been used a lot lately. Also Neumann M149´s. Josephson C42. Even KM184´s, altough they sometimes are a little on the bright side. Again, it depends on the kit, the style, the sound....

Please remember that my comments on SP are based on the SP C3. I have not heard the other SP mics, which for all I know could work fine in your room, with your drum kit. There is no subsitute for first hand experience; try to loan them for a couple of days.
