bogner for sure. I do tons of metal / heavy stuff and I always end up frustrated when a band brings in rectifiers. You can turn the knobs forever and coax a half decent sound out of them, but they don't come close to a lot of other amps IMO. They sound wimpy to me... almost like a solid state overdrive. way too much hype around these amps..
I've been playing a Bogner XTC with my band lately, and it's sounding pretty good. Haven't had a chance to get it in the studio yet.
If you want to save a ton of money and still get great heavy tones, you might want to check out a 5150... still one of the best metal/hardcore amps around.
