It took me a couple of reads to realize that you weren't indicting Mercenary's (which is not always "my") decision to carry Purple and not UA... or at least it seemed upon subsequent reads that you were acknowledging that our 'line selection process' is based upon "usefullness for a purpose" as opposed to the post being "Mercenary doesn't carry it so he's going to speak ill of the product".

The fact that M-A doesn't carry UA was a consious decision based on quality of the product and quality of the company behind the product... which over the past few years seems to have changed by a measure (quality of the company rising, quality of the product dropping). I have a couple of friends who work at UA, they're great people... I'm somewhat fond of Bill Putnam (not that we're looking to pick out curtains or anything... but I'll have a drink with the man any day)... and frankly the shit sells really well so it's probably not in the company's economic best interest to have dropped the line... but that's life in the big city now ain't it.
