Hardcore/Rock Mix Needing Advice

Hey Slutz,
So this is my first attempt at recording a hardcore band. When I asked for a reference cd they gave me Underoath's "Chasing safety" cd & a Devil Wears Prada cd.

Any constructive criticism would be great.

The mix i feel is being pushed too hard, but the band still feels like it needs to be louder..
Tough situation, do I forget what I feel is right & just hop onto the band wagon (of todays modern rock) & make this track clip a little?

Another concern is the 808 hits in the song. They for sure what them to hit hard, but with the music being pushed loud how do we fit a big 808 ontop of it & still keep the music from distorting? I didn't have distorting problem with the 808's in the pre-mastering mixes, before the mastering session, so maybe I need to lower the volume of the 808's in the mix so it's not so overpowering in the mastering session.

Thanks for your time.

ps. don't pay attention to the audio after the song ended, the band wanted to put something funny after this song.
