this computer engr thinks amd semprons and particularly amd 64's rock. however be aware of one thing....
ive seen people buy amd 64 - and, due to the price of the processor try and save money on the power supply.
be aware there are clone power supplies around that look cheap but might not meet engineering rated power specs.
ive seen this happen. in summary - get a nice beefy power supply
that will also handle your future needs should you add peripherals to the basic system in the future.
another tip - if using a pci slot based sound card dont put anything in the pci slots EXCEPT the sound card.
use 8mb cache hard drives. and 512 ram minimum.peace.
