Most modules for the BBC like 1070, 1079, 1089, etc., were single input. This cut down on the tie line issues from the studio floor to the control room up above in the Gods.
Some, like the 1070, had no line input at all and the mic gain was attenuated for the line input levels.
Others, like 1079, had mic and line input transformers that were switched by relays from a single input.
In every other aspect, particularly EQ, these were the same as a 1073.
I can't recall which of the two systems the 1089 used but am pretty sure, unless it was modded as many were, that it was single input also.
