I did a search but couldn't find a relative (enough) thread,so I figure this might be the right place to ask.

I want to head down the lunchbox track but in terms of buying components I'm not to sure how it works. I live in Australia so I assume I need to buy a lunchbox from here so that it works at 240V (Aussie voltage). Does that mean that after buying an Australian voltage lunchbox, I can buy 500 series gear from the states? Or do those components need to be Australian voltage also? I have no idea how PSU etc. work, and honestly I'd rather focus on the music anyway. Can someone help me out please?
