1. Take new toy out of box
2. Plug in and power on new toy
3. Install drivers
4. Reboot OS
5. Install hardware
6. No workie
7. Update drivers
8. Reboot OS
9. No workie
10. RTFM
11. Search for forum online
12. Find relevant post
13. Apply post instructions
14. Reboot OS
15. Install hardware
16. Install software
17. Repeat steps 4-17 for about 5 hours, then it might work.
Typical Mac Hardware Installation Process
1. Take new toy out of box
2. Plug in and power up new toy
3. OSX tells you, "New toy discovered. Would you like to use it?"
4. Start using new toy.
5. Ask yourself, "Why did I use a PC all these years?"
I've used both PC and Mac. I've experienced this process first hand. That is why I say get a mac. I've used PC's for years for audio recording. And, to save you a couple of years, get a mac. Nothing against PC's, they have their place, and I have one as well as my Mac. But, you don't use a hammer to clean your windshield either.
