As soon as we finish clearing out the space we have I will provide measurements and pictures, but in the meantime, are there any general considerations that can be offered up? For example, what material should the floor be, how dead/live is too dead/live for both applications? Is it even feasible to use the room for both? You know things of that nature. I have read much and have some knowledge on the subject matter but this is my first time actually putting this all to practice so any opinions are greatly appreciated. I would really like to do a proper job so that its done right the first time and I don't have to be bothered by any irreversible design flaws. Thank you all in advance.
You're going to hate this answer, but I'd suggest that you not do it at all. A proper booth is a real money pit both in time and resources, especially if you plan to combine isolation and a nice-sounding space. I can almost guarantee you'll get a better vocal/guitar sound from a larger space, even if you have to use some gobos (much cheaper to make) to do it.

Just my $.02.
