I think using a real name and contact info would create a more intimate enviroment, where everyone starts "talking" more. by having anonymous people here, it creates a big dissadvantage for the guest moderators. and it's not surprising Richard's honesty backfired on him. I'm sure Fletcher lost some customers to because when he is pissed he doesn't give a good impression, and we all know who he is. But on the other hand , people like his honesty and decide to do business with him for that reason. Even though Richard gave alot of technical information, that information will probably only give us a 5% improvement over our own recordings. the personal level "talk" is where the real help is at. after all he is in a professional position 99% of this forum wishes were at, and he did not get there because he knows how to use a compressor better than others. and certainly we wont get there because we now know his compressor of choice and settings. It's the "personal talk" guidance of people like Richard where the real help is at. I don't understand why people don't see that, instead ruin it for the rest of us that need that kind of inpspiration to survive this shity business.
