For Roland - problem is the market. How many JPs would be sold? Not even 1/10th of how many SH-201s were sold. Why? Those who hear the difference and appreciate Jupiter's sound are a BIG minority.
I swear to Buddha, if they made 20.000 instead of 2.000 JP-8s you wouldn't see this price craziness at all. Those who "know what is it" would comfortably get one - the rest would continue to suck their thumbs with cheap plastic sounding toys like SH-201, JP-8000, etc - they can't hear a difference anyway. They are happy, you are happy - everyone's happy.
Unfortunately (or thankfully) - people with cultivated sense and liking are a minority on this planet. Roland won't make a new JP just for them. Specially when it can earn x10 with the SH-301, TB-304, TR-809, etc.
