I was an assistant 12+ years ago & the engineer/owner told me to place the coles(4038) ribbons on the kit for overheads did that plugged in the cables to a live +48v pre-amp did that watched the engineer turn pale white and then burst into flames while screaming at me ( good thing the phantom wasnt functioning properly on that box ) iu to this day will not touch those f@#king mikes!!
