Well supposedly that is exactly what they are doing with their new update to Leopard called "Snow Leopard"... Supposedly they said, no more new features, and gadgets until we FINALLY get OS X running as solid as 9 used to.
This is good news. I always thought X to be a little sluggish and sometimes funny buggy....
They said they are addressing this in Snow Leopard.
