Early to the mid 70's for the consoles.
I don't know the complete history of Studio 55 except for the time I was there with Howard Steele during the 70's. Much of it was just hanging out after work watching recording sessions. Good times! The studio was co-owned by Howard and Richard Perry.
FYI, there was an early Quantum 16-24 channel mixer in studio B at Studio 55. Lot's of hit records made on that mixer.
