I visited while they were tracking basics.
I think it was at sound on sound. It was long ago obviously.
I've never seen more microphones on a kit in my life!
Toms had two mics each and there was a ton of them.
I think each cymbal had it's own SDC as well.
There had to be close to 40 mics or maybe more.
Totally rediculous.
Someone said the drum mics were tracked on a seperate analog 24 track machine from the rest of the tracks.

I also noticed they had a huge PA with the drums through it blasting into the huge room.
I mean a HUGE PA, giant 18 inch woofers or something like that.

They had a picture of Bon Jovi on the wall with his mouth cut out and a picture of a dick going into it.
That's what I was most impressed with.
