This is correct. There was no update to the dynamics for the G-Series channel strip. The 2151 VCAs were introduced earlier on the E-Series because they were less noisy and exhibited greater gain stability. Channel fader VCAs were also changed on the E-Series around that time for what was in fact a module comprising of multiple 2151's in parallel, to reduce noise even further.
