Must be me
First off, I am a big Red Sox's fan and I live in NY. I was so sick of the Yankess buying the best players and then going against the American League. I was so happy when the Red Sox beat the Yankees.

Anyway, back to the topic. I think you hit on a very good point. Just because you have a impulse of a Lex or anything else, it does not mean that you will have a great sounding reverb. I do believe a lot of the sampling was done quick such as using the balloon method.

When I saw what Waves did to get their own impulses (which you can't get by the way unless you have a Waves IR-1) http://www.acoustics.net/ I know that they did it right, taking samples at 96 and having a very complex way of doing things to get acurate impulses. I am sure most of the freebies on line were not done the same way. You pay for what you get is true.

"After working with the IR-1 and the full set of impulse responses I'm thoroughly impressed with the tonality, richness, and sense of depth and ability to manipulate the parameters, particularly in separating the early reflections from the tail. It's a true breakthrough in reverb technology, providing sound quality that used to cost from 10 to 20 times as much!"
