There are other threads in this forum about this that you might want to search to find your answers.

To sum up my thoughts on them, They can be great, however, none of the current convolution verbs can replicate any modulation, so there are many many artificial reverbs that cannot be sampled, Any Ursa Major, Lexicon, Ensoniq, for example.

I prefer to use them to replicate real spaces rather than artificial reverbs.
