everything JWL says is (of course) 100% in regards to acoustical treatment of the "booth", but this quote from you leads me to believe you want sound proofing. This is a different animal.

Absorption material (OC703 and the like) will muffle the mids and highs, but do little or nothing to sound proof the booth from the bass. In other words, the beats are going to come through...

If you want to sound proof a closet, you'll need to hang a few more layers of sheetrock on the walls in the closet, and at a minimum replace the current hollow core (I assume) door with a solid core with good seals. That will help, but not completely solve the problem.

A less expensive solution may be headphones

you still should treat the booth as JWL described
