How to bring a complex signal in phase with itself, let´s say snare mic and overheads.
It´s impossible, isn´t it?
I mean it´s frequency dependend?
If i align the phase of a sinuid waveform, ok.

Let´s say the snare would be a sinus. It travels all the way through the room up to the overheads.Let´s forget room acoustics.
Let´s say we got a 100Hz sinus. It arrives at the overhads 5ms later.
So the phase shift between snare mic and overheads would be 180 degrees.

What does a phase alignment tool now do?
I choose 180 degrees. It´s like flipping the phase button.
The waveform is now mirrowed, both mics should be in phase witch each other.

But what if the phase difference between the snare mic and the overheads is lets say 90 degrees, does the phase alignment tool delay the signal by 2.5 ms or how does it work?

Let´s say there would be 2 sinuid waveforms...off course it would never happen in reality, because it there would be a resulting waveform of both.
Lets say 120 Hz. Because the wavelength is differnt, 120 Hz wouldn´t have a 180 degree phase difference, like the 100Hz. If i now flip the phase button, 100Hz would be in phase, 120 Hz not, right?
